Our Philosophy

I want to personally welcome you to the Verona & Montclair Animal Hospitals website. We created this interactive site to let you know about the many services we have to offer you and your pet, to give you an idea about who we are, and to invite you to become part of our pet-caring community. We want this to be your trusted “go-to site” for accurate, timely information on issues that are important to your pet’s care.

The veterinarians and staff members at Verona & Montclair Animal Hospitals are pet people; owners who consider their pets cherished family members. We want the best for our pets, as we know you do for yours, so we treat each pet as if he or she were our own. We have the technology and skills you would only typically find in large referral hospitals or veterinary schools, but with the benefit of truly personalized service from our close-knit team.

“We always do what is best for the pets;” that is the unwavering policy at our hospitals and the core philosophy under which each doctor and staff member operates. Every decision made, every action taken is based on our complete commitment to this premise. Our veterinarians are all members of our local, state, and national veterinary associations, and regularly attend conferences and educational programs sponsored by these affiliations.

Wellness Care is an integral part of our healthcare philosophy. It is a proactive approach to caring for your pet where prevention and early diagnosis of health issues result in a longer, healthier life for your pet. You can read more about Wellness Care under the Pet Services tab.

In our site, our veterinarians have the opportunity to share the latest information about treatment options and surgical procedures for your pet, along with helpful advice on pertinent topics regarding your pet’s health. We will also be answering questions that we get from you through our site as well as those we hear during office visits. We will update this section frequently, so be sure to check in regularly.

Providing for the care and well being of animals has always been important to me. It is the reason I became a veterinarian and the inspiration for me to do whatever I can to help all animals regardless of whether or not it is someone’s treasured pet, a homeless animal or injured wildlife brought into my hospital by a Good Samaritan.

Throughout my career, I have assisted many of the local shelters including PAWS, The Bloomfield Animal Shelter, Friends of Wayne Animal Shelter, and Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter. In addition, I am pleased to have been one of the co-founders of the PAWS’ low-cost spay program that pre-dated the state’s current spay program. I also helped design the current Mt Pleasant Animal Shelter.

A particularly rewarding part of my practice includes working with the many wonderful animal welfare groups we have in our community including Rescue Haven Foundation, Angels of Animals (AOA), and Good Karma. My own dog, ”Bella” was rescued from Paterson after being thrown from a car. I am currently the Vice President of Rescue Haven Foundation
