Gary Gerber was born and raised in East Hanover, New Jersey. For as long as he can remember it was always his dream to become a veterinarian. He got his start in the veterinary field working as a technician at the Verona and Montclair Animal Hospitals from 1999-2004. Dr. Gerber received a BS from Rutgers University before seeing his dream come to fruition. He graduated veterinary school from Ross University in the British West Indies in 2008, where he graduated with high honors. Gary completed his clinical year of training at the University of Florida followed by a year-long internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York City. In the medical field Dr. Gerber thoroughly enjoys both surgery and internal medicine.
While Dr. Gerber was studying in the British West Indies he rescued his beloved Doberman Pinscher, “Atilla”. More recently, Gary also adopted a black Labrador Retriever named “Maxine”. Maxine had been hit by a car and was treated at the Verona Animal Hospital when Dr. Gerber and his entire family fell in love with her and decided to make her their own. In his spare time, Gary enjoys to travel, cook, read, box, play volleyball, and practice mixed martial arts.
